Have you been told that unless you take some expensive supplements or do this diet, you won't be able lose the weight or get rid of the menopause symptoms you're suffering?
ABOUT CHRISTA LEIGH
What if everything I believed about menopause was wrong? This was the question I was asking 10 years ago after my midlife journey went off the rails.
I'm embarrassed to tell you that one of my first memories of menopause was having heart palpitations, being told my blood pressure was high at the doctor's office, and then being asked by a much older female coworker (who was also a nurse) if I was going through menopause. My response was one of shock and disgust.
I told her, "What are you f***g talking about! I'm not in menopause." I stormed out of her office and thought how dare she say that to me. I was only 40 years old for God's sake. This was 13 years ago.
Looking back, I realize, I was almost certainly in at least the early stages of perimenopause then and my related symptoms (although I didn't recognize them as related) were about to get a whole lot worse.
Shortly afterwards, I started losing a bunch of hair, put on weight that wouldn't budge using my usual methods, couldn't sleep, and I had CRUSHING anxiety. I chalked it up to the high amount of stress I was under.
Still, losing my hair was not an option. So but I went to the doctor in a panic.
What I was told during that doctor's visit led me down the long path of studying hormones and metabolic health. I eventually went back to school for learning nutritional therapy after learning everything I could about functional medicine and holistic and integrative health.
While I was fascinated by what I was learning, I was getting ticked off by the run-around women were getting at the doctor's office - even by the gynecologists who were supposedly women's health experts. More and more I realized the OBGYNs, primary care providers and endocrinologists knew almost nothing about updated menopause health and the honest ones admitted they had received almost no training on menopause in medical school or even in advanced specialty trainings.
Filling this gap, I saw loads of false promises made by health practitioners claiming menopause supplements or extreme diets were the answer. I watched as many friends fell for these claims only to realize they didn't work. I'm ashamed to admit that in desperation for help, I was duped as well.
Some providers (and other women) were still scaring women about replacing lost hormones with HRT while others were claiming HRT was the answer to everything for every woman. In my gut, I knew the truth wasn't so black and white.
My work for over 25 years representing health care providers gave me a different perspective and taught me not to accept any recommendations or opinions at face value, no matter the credentials or expertise of the person sharing. I've spent over two decades pouring over the latest medical literature, speaking to leading medical experts around the country and examining the conflicting information on medical standards of care and evidence based medicine. From my work, I also know the back-story - the one the public doesn't see about medicine and health care and that often is never revealed.
In my earlier career, I was a neuroscience research associate with a focus on dementia. I studied neuroscience and spent several years reviewing medical literature, designing research studies and gaining expertise in statistical evidence. So, when it came time for me to figure out what the hell was going on with my own health and aging, let's just say I dove in deep!
I know how terrible it feels to not understand what's going on during this rollercoaster called midlife. It's confusing. And when you feel like crap, at times it feels overwhelming and hopeless. I remember wondering whether I could ever get back to the person I was before. I didn't recognize myself in the mirror and no one seemed to really get how I felt.
Once I turned things around, I realized you CAN celebrate your hormones and nourish them instead of fighting them. No more late nights going down rabbit holes.
Stop wasting time. I will be your dedicated partner on your journey to feeling like your healthy, happier you. I want you to feel empowered because I know you can make this the best half of your life.

Everything Hormones
Do you really understand what's going on with your hormones after age 35? Or after a hysterectomy? Or when your periods have become irregular? Or when the doctor or maybe a friend tells you why you should or shouldn't take hormone replacement therapy (HRT)? Or when a doctor or medspa offers pellets for hormones? Or why you're having trouble getting rid of weight gain around your midsection no matter how little you eat or how much you exercise? Or why you have trouble concentrating or remembering what you're saying mid-sentence? Or why you can't get back to sleep when you wake up in the middle of the night? Or why you suddenly have social anxiety, fear of driving, or just feel nervous all the time? These are just a few examples of why it's so important to understand your hormones and how to work with them and get off the strugglebus. I walk you through everything you need to understand about your hormones so you have the confidence to advocate for your health at the doctor and make informed decisions about what is right for you.

Mood changes balanced, energy levels restored, less anxious, nightly heartburn gone, skin improved
My doctor was pretty shocked with my labs. My blood sugars are way down, cholesterol is down, and much to my surprise, my weight is way down! Lost 12 pounds so far. Lot more to go but I’m making progress. My hairstylist said she sees some new hair growth too!
Prediabetic and Doctor suggested statins. Had rapid weight gain & hair thinning
I talk about my life in terms of BC (Before Christa) and AC (After Christa). I didn't realize how much I was really struggling daily until I sat down and did the food/mood journaling and health assessments with her. After nutritional therapy with Christa, my overall mood and well-being improved. She's also kind and patient which helps when you're talking about difficult things.
Candice
Daily GI issues gone, no more headaches, skin cleared, loads of energy, sugar cravings gone
Someone that hadn’t seen me in a long time said I looked so young and healthy! Thanks to my new eating habits I’m thinking, thanks to you!!!!
Reduced weight, fatigue, bloating
The good news is that when you change your diet and nutrition, your body can respond quickly. For example, studies show that your gut microbiome can change within days! Dramatic changes to underlying inflammation and how lifestyle and nutrition impact your hormones, takes time. The speed at which you'll see results can vary from person to person, because it depends on factors like your starting point, dedication, and your individual body. But we all need to see wins, and see them pretty quickly, to have the motivation and confidence to keep going! That's why I've designed the program to have you making the changes right up front that are most likely to positively impact you. My focus is on helping you make long-term changes to your lifestyle rather than quick fixes that just act like temporary band-aids. Still, many women start noticing positive changes within the first few weeks.
No, because frankly that won't work for you long-term. I do provide you with personalized meal plans tailored to your unique needs and which focus on protein and fiber. However, I believe in flexibility and understanding that everyone has different preferences, family needs, budgets, and time limitations. My approach is not about weird or restrictive diets but rather about making informed choices and giving you the tools you need to make choices to support your metabolism in menopause. Your personalized plan will be tailored to your unique needs and will include guidelines to support you in your daily eating. Working with me is specifically designed to get you out of overwhelm or confusion and just make sensible decisions about what you're eating every day. I do share the science behind the meals but my approach is to make this simple so you can easily decide what food is working for you to feel the way you want to.
At Celebrating Hormones, I know that trying to do things on your own rarely works. You will have questions and you will run into challenges. I absolutely want you to feel amazing. So to make sure you feel supported and heard, I have private 1:1 video sessions with you. This is where you have access to me for coaching, guidances, motivation, and accountability. It's also where I can answer your questions. The most important factor for success is whether you implement what you learn. That's why I offer 1:1 video sessions with me while you go through the program, email access during office hours, and I provide you with resources to ensure you have everything you need to succeed. Also, since I've been through the trenches myself, I'm here as your midlife bestie to cheer you on!
